KGF: Kolar Gold Fields

kgf stands forKolar Gold Fields. It is a gold mining zone located in the Bangarpet Taluk located in the Kolar District of Karnataka, India. It was one of the largest mining areas for gold in India that was closed in 2001 due in part to the increase in production costs, decreasing deposits and low gold production.
